The first version of WP2TM is just around the corner.

I am currently finishing the work on getting and setting options via the Wordpress admin panel, i.e. the boring part of writing web forms, but will be done soon.

I’ve decided to implement a related-term association for tags, meaning that you’ll be able to relate your blog’s tags to other tags by adding custom URIs. It will also be possible to override this relationship and use the custom URIs as subject indicators for any given tag. That way, merging Wordpress topic maps could be more interesting.
(Perhaps a future version could also allow you to specify different types of associations between tags, kinda like over at Fuzzzy’s).

The first version will only support XTM 1.0, as that is what I had in mind when I started playing with writing a WP plugin. I am going to re-write the plugin - from scratch - in order to allow for multiple output formats - XTM1.0/2.0, JTM - and code it more properly (just for the fun of it), using OOP instead of the Wordpress-way of doing things (yes, of course I should’ve done this from the start — aaanyhow…).

Since this is likely to take some time (thinking things through usually does), and because there wont be anything wrong with using the current version, I’ve decided to release it to the public before I start the re-write … otherwise it could take too long before anything was released.

So stay tuned for WP2TM version 0.1.
