Interesting Design Choices #1
Say, where did they put that “Home” (”Hjem”) button (the image without alt text)?
In all fairness, it’s a public site by a cultural institution — which definitively has a limited web budget.
Still, it makes me wonder why they decided to put it at the bottom of the main menu.

I also wonder why some sites have the HOME button at the bottom. May be they think it is the least import element of the menu? I really don’t want to look around for the home button. Therefore my eyes goes right to the top and expect to find it there. I also think the site should have a HOME link on the logo. And as a rule I would say that the menu is not the element to show how creative you are. Take the left menu at Forskning.no - it is so beautiful that I’m more interested in moving my mouse up and down instead of exploring what’s behind the links!

You are absolutely right. I had to, as I imagine every user who encounters this kind of menu has to, read my way down through the menu in order to locate the home button. Not a good thing.
I don’t think this is the right thing to experiment with, no.
